Patrick L. Crooks was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, on April 20, 1934. He is a graduate of Marquette University (B.S., 1956; & J.D., 1958), was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar Association, 1958, and to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Wisconsin Association for Justice. He is a former District Attorney of Marathon County and a former United States Magistrate for 12 years. He was a member of the Wausau School Board for 12 years, and served as its President for 4 terms.

Besides serving as President of the Wausau Noon and Wausau Breakfast Optimist Clubs, he was a District Governor and past International Vice President of Optimist International. He was a member and past President of Habitat for Humanity of Wausau and has served on many other boards. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Peoples State Bank of Wausau.

His practice has been concentrated in personal injury litigation, condemnation law, real estate and probate law.
