At Crooks, Low & Connell, it is our mission to make ourselves available to advise and advocate for the people of Central Wisconsin to the fullest extent possible. We have been serving our community for almost ninety years, which makes it hard to envision anything different than “business as usual.”
But, these are not ordinary times. Like everyone else, because of the COVID-19 crisis, at Crooks, Low, and Connell, we must envision ways to adapt to the current reality. Inevitably, even with the world at a standstill, our current clients will still have needs that need to be met, and people will still need to retain attorneys. However, we cannot meet our goals of helping the people of our community if we are a part of the problem, and are not taking proper steps to protect the health and safety of our attorneys, staff, clients, and others who we may come across in our work.
Right now, this means we are minimizing in-person contacts in order to follow social distancing guidelines. We are attempting to conduct business virtually (by email, phone, or video) whenever possible. In-office, we are trying to be hyper-vigilant about cleaning, sanitizing, and hand-washing. We are asking that employees, clients and visitors who feel sick refrain from entering the building. We are keeping apprised of national and state-level guidance, and determining how emergency orders from our local courts will impact our clients and our practice.
As the situation continues to evolve, we also understand that now, more than ever, there is a need to remain flexible, adaptable, and to have a little bit of grace when interacting with others. This is new to all of us, and we are doing our best. We know you are, too. As we consider the possibilities for our future, where our kids’ schools remain closed, where the little ones’ daycares close their doors, or where the government decides it is in the best interests of the public to restrict our ability to come into the office, we are assessing the available options for continuing to serve our clients in a scaled-back fashion, even if from home. We will keep you apprised of any further developments or changes to our operations.
But for now, know that we are still working, and we are doing our best to keep our community healthy and strong. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about how our office is responding to the COVID-19 crisis.
